English 125: education gone viral
This piece is an argumentative essay on a self-selected topic. I wrote about the rise of online schools and how they were ruining education and kids' ability to socialize. I distinctly remember writing this piece because in my search for research that ultimately reaffirmed my own viewpoints, I discovered the opposing viewpoint physically sitting across from me in class. In one of our peer editing groups, a football player from Florida told me he had gone to online school. In that moment, it took a lot more brain power to articulate my point verbally and keep making my case against online schools in a way that was not close-minded or accusatory, although I went ahead with that perspective anyways in my paper.
